Fashion as Armor 2-Bay

After researching about Renaissance and Medieval armors, I took inspiration from contemporary garment patterns and combine them with a lot of prominent features of the armors, such as chainmail, layered metal plates and ostentatiously engraved patterns on metal armors.

These are not final sketches, they still need to be cleaned and colored.

All the photos and sketches was provided by Bay Chaitrakulthong ’19

Hi Bay these are amazing drawings! I was curious what types of materials you would use to construct these designs. Would you stay true to the medieval roots and use chainmail and metal or use an entirely different material?

    Bay-

I am absolutely astonished by these sketches! I’m really happy that I am able to see your progress and your thought process throughout this project. I was hoping to hear a little bit more, specifically about the armor in the first few sketches, and how you came about to finlizing them in your draft? What I am trying to say is next time I would love to hear more about your thought process throughout this. Thank you for sharing your talent!

First off, these drawings are amazing and breathtaking. The next thing I want to talk about is similar to what Dhillon was mentioning. I am also interested in how exactly you are going to construct these designs and what you are going to use to accomplish these goals. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for your project.
