5 Events

After deciding to create a video based off bias, I picked out the events I wanted to focus on specifically. So far, I limited it to 5 events. The first event I chose is the Lucknow Pact being presented to the British in 1916. The Lucknow Pact was an agreement made between the Indian national Congress and Muslim league to pressure the British officials to give Indians more power over their country. At the time India was under British rule and the point of this pact was to deal with the structure of the government and better relations between Hindus and Muslims.

After a few years, in 1930, Mahatma Gandhi, a Hindu nationalist, launched an anti-british civil disobedience protest. The British were beginning to tax salt heavily, which was a staple in their diets. Gandhi organized a protest to this specifically boycotting buying salt from the British.

These are two of the five events I chose to elaborate on. Next week i might talk about the last 3 events and even show two bias’ of it which I will use in my film.

Ria this sounds so interesting. I’m excited to see what you come up with in terms of the video. I’m wondering if you will expand on the long lasting effects of British rule in India
