Music Blogging Week 5- Amanda

With late starts, weird schedules, and the college application process I didn’t have as much time to dedicate to my work this week. Since everything in my schedule was so hectic, I decided to make my work for this a little less intense so I spent most of my time looking on SoundCloud for something to write about. I haven’t had much luck with finding music in the last few weeks, but one band I’ve beenHUNNY_EP_ART following released a new EP this week that I really like. They’re called HUNNY and I’ve written about
one of their singles before. I’ll bounce it off my
editor this upcoming week after I listen to it a few more times and think of what I could say about it.

I also found some new songs that are a little more electronic than what I usually write about and I’ve sent them to my editor so I’ll wait to see what he says about them. One of my goals is to have more experience in writing about different genres, so hopefully he’ll like the songs. I hope I’ll have more time this week to listen to more songs and write more. My week doesn’t look too busy so I might even be able to do some extra research about music blogging during my homework time.

Hey Amanda, I forget if I read in your past blogs if there is only certain music you will review. What kinds of music does your editor usually want you to review? I think it would be interesting if you reviewed music that was completely out of your music taste/ comfort zone. I am just wondering what you might say about other music..

Hi Amanda, I was wondering if you could elaborate on how you find the music you review. Are there any keywords you search or categories you sort through? Also, do you exclusively find your music via Soundcloud or do you use other sources and about how much time does it take before you a find a song that you want to review?

I totally understand the whole “not having time for work” thing. I’m experiencing the same thing with my project right now, particularly as we’re moving towards the end of the quarter. However, I did have some questions. I’m not sure whether these have been answered in previous posts, but do you use anything other than soundcloud to find your music? Does your editor edit your posts about the music you’ve found or does he/she just talk with you about the track and what you can write about it?
